The Family Crest

The Family Crest is a collective. A core of seven, and an “extended recording family” of over 500 members contributes to the band’s spirited, orchestral indie rock. Liam McCormick’s high, longing wail leads the charge their boisterous chorus follows. They’re intensely melodic, using a diverse slew of voices to belt out huge vocal lines. The Family Crest effortlessly brings an intensity to the stage with each member dedicated to the performance; a unified front of instrumental onslaught. The massive sound incorporates soundtrack-like bridges and aggressive strings while allowing an undeniable element of pop to rise to the top of the bubbling orchestra below.

New record “Beneath the Brine” features 700 auxiliary musicians using every instrument you could imagine and the band’s hoping for even more. The Family Crest began as a collaborative art project and remains as inspired as it began. Apply to play on their record if you’re interested; they’d love to have you.
