Maurice 'Mobetta' Brown is a masterful trumpet player and MC whose list of collaborators include everyone from Tedeschi Trucks Band to Talib Kweli. His musical identity pits two separate obsessions against one another to reflect a broad range of taste and influence. This dichotomy is especially visible when Maurice performs with his band SOUL'D U OUT. The result is a high-octane performance that balances jazz, punk, hip-hop, soul and rock in a colorful sound that only the full band can authentically pull off.
